A spirit-filled church community made up of ordinary people whose lives are being transformed by the love, power, and grace of God. People at ZAO are in all different stages of their journey with God – but we’re all journeying towards the same goal – to be transformed by God’s love, power, and grace. It means living differently, loving differently, and putting our trust in doing things God’s way, instead of our own. It’s normal for us to see people being transformed physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they discover how powerful God is and how much He loves them.

We believe that the local church is meant to be a spiritual family that builds up and encourages one another to become more like Christ. Below are some of the ways we grow together in faith, love, and in relationship with God and each other.

One of the central ways we grow as disciples of Jesus is by having intentional relationships with people who share the same goal, and our community groups are the ideal place for that.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42

Our kids ministry is focused on awakening our childrens passion for Jesus Christ and to encourage them to discover their faith in Christ in a practical and exciting way!

“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2

Our goal is to allow teenagers to become more Christlike, and help them grow into adults who can rely on God, which will give them the courage to do so.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Be equipped with the Word of God and learn how to walk in close fellowship with Abba Father, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. Experience real transformation.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Tim. 4:12

Addicted to Distraction

In his letter, John, ever the “apostle of love”, says right at the outset, “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.”

The kind of intimacy which the Father has invited us into is the kind in which the Holy Spirit searches out the “deep things of God”, even “the thoughts of God” and reveals them to our spirits. It is a kind of wordless communion which can only be spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2).

Our communion with the Father makes Satan incredibly jealous and he has devised many strategies over the millennia to disrupt it. Jesus warned us about this and said, “the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” I believe this is Satan’s most effective strategy against us, in a word – distraction.
